Thursday, August 14. 2008NYC Dover Strait Update August 13, 2008 At Beginning of Today The work continues on the Dover Strait lettering. Barely had the other side been completed than the car was pulled from the barn and turned on the wye, about 3 hours after the last paint was applied last Sunday. So we start on the second side with a large crew. Here you see masking of the two stripes in progress and in the distance, James Faulhaber is sanding out the area for the stripe.  Sanding and Masking Lower Stripe A better view of James Faulhaber doing the picky work of preparing the stripe areas for paint.  Masking Upper Stripe John Faulhaber and Bill Leider are masking for the upper stripe.  Finally Some Paint Bill Leider is happy that paint is going on the upper stripe.  Last Paint Today Bill Leider and Bob Kutella with the last dab of paint for the day, completing the upper stripe on side two.  Upper Stripe Done The finished product. Thursday, August 14. 2008UTLX 17222 Update August 13, 2008 Inside Barn 3 Here you can see the tank car moved temporarily into Barn 3 for final cleanup before painting.  Detail Work Victor Humphreys is working on the placard holders to be painted and remounted on the tank car. Those rusty old bolts are stubborn!
