The work continues on the Dover Strait lettering. Barely had the other side been completed than the car was pulled from the barn and turned on the wye, about 3 hours after the last paint was applied last Sunday. So we start on the second side with a large crew. Here you see masking of the two stripes in progress and in the distance, James Faulhaber is sanding out the area for the stripe.
A better view of James Faulhaber doing the picky work of preparing the stripe areas for paint.
John Faulhaber and Bill Leider are masking for the upper stripe.
Bill Leider is happy that paint is going on the upper stripe.
Bill Leider and Bob Kutella with the last dab of paint for the day, completing the upper stripe on side two.
The finished product.
Here you can see the tank car moved temporarily into Barn 3 for final cleanup before painting.
Victor Humphreys is working on the placard holders to be painted and remounted on the tank car. Those rusty old bolts are stubborn!
