Thursday, August 28. 2008NYC Dover Strait Update August 27, 2008 End Gate Project Manager Bob Hunter wrestles with a scissors gate for the end of the car.  Underbody Painting Gene Mackowiak is painting most of the underbody equipment black.  Spelling can be an Issue Bob Kutella painting part of the CENTRAL on the letterboard. Earlier in the day he and Bill Leider did most of the graphics and layout for these letters.  Busy Bill Leider Then Bob and Bill both got brushes working in tandem to quickly get that done before day's end.  Scaffold Wrangler Bob Hunter manages the rolling scaffold we used, which can be tricky on the platforms and ramps where the DOVER is currently spotted.  Letterboard Done At the end of the day, the second side letterboard sported a full NEW YORK CENTRAL. |
