Norm Krentel stands in front of one of the baggage doors removed from the 28. The damage and deterioration is extreme so the first step is to document and create a drawing before starting to make new doors.

Henry Vincent is also working to complete a new cab door for our Milwaukee Electric steeplecab locomotive L4. Here is the first coat of grey going on the interior of the door.

Since our last entry here months ago, the new decking has been completed, the air tanks tested and painted, and Project Leader Pete Galayda has endured some shoulder surgery.
Pete is recuperated enough that you can see the accumulated progess here, with (l to r) Pete Galayda, Kirk Warner, and Dick Cubbage just lifting and placing the tanks on the new wooden saddles.

We have not updated this entry for awhile, but rest assured the work goes on. Norm Krentel and Ray Schmid are in the baggage section struggling with a blank to cover the opening after removal of one of the baggage doors. In the shop, Victor Humphreys is examining the south baggage door to determine repairs or replacemnt.

Pete Galayda has been convalescing following shoulder surgery, but today marked his return to the job. Here he is finish sanding the first color coat on the TM 972, and if the weather holds, maybe get more paint on this season.
