The line dept. is out of hibernation! Wednesday, Roger and I spotted poles for the 50th Ave station and even set one by the car dept. sleeping-quarters-caboose-dormitory-caboose.
Tuesday was like early March, so I transferred equipment to a new pole at the East end of the depot. I could not replace the span wire because all of our rubber goods are at the lab being cleaned and dielectric tested. The rope lashed pole is gone!
Friday I continued installing signal drops around the carline. This was an ongoing project from last year that I was doing for the signal dept. All the signals near the "S" curve now have proper power.
Carl is working on our new bucket truck and Dave says it will be orange and ready to go into service soon. It has brakes!
Saturday I spent some time making PVC conduit bends for the barn 4/car shop extension project.
Rain, rain, rain turns into mud, mud, mud, that rhymes with?....flood, flood, flood.... water, water, everywhere the line dept. must work. So, that's all until it dries a bit.

I was not around at the time. General discussion suggests that it was "pretty marginal" in a number of areas. Nigel

Ah yes, I have made such Jibs myself. If it were me, I would add in each corner an angled piece from the base to the Jib to act as sway bracing. [...]
