Thanks to Kirk Warner for taking and sending photos of much of the ongoing work and recently accomplished work on this and other projects.
Lee Regione works on the 'main floor' below the cupola as the crew gets ready for final trim and finish work inside this car.
Bob Payne is up in the cupola fussing and fitting some of the final trim pieces.
Another shot of the interior. I know it seems rough but if you look closer a lot of the prep work for priming and painting has been done and only awaiting warmer weather.
Well, a mystery nevertheless since we think we know what it is based on existing lettering. It is an INTERLOCKING JOURNAL BEARING WEAR LIMIT GAUGE; George White - maker - Jersey City. This has to be very old since it is adjustable down to a 3 3/4 x 7 bearing and the largest being only 5 x 9. Patent Applied For.
This was generously donated by a friend in Coatesville, PA and now the question is how does it work, and how do we use it? Come on all you internet Sherlocks! How about a challenge?
