For a project long mired in the effort to get a good paint job, things are coming together nicely.
Dick Cubbage replaces the dome boards after the car has been painted.
The first lettering was applied September 7th.
More layout work and measuring to place additional patterns on the car.
This symbol is applied to indicate the car has been equipped with an approved manway cover.
Here I am caught in the act (of painting)! It requires two coats of the chrome yellow lettering enamel to provide good coverage over the black tankcar body.
Here is the car by day's end. Amazing that I work so slow with today's work consuming most of 5 hours. But that yellow lettering really stands out from the black background!
More milestones today in spite of shared workforce with several other projects during the day.
Victor Humphreys got shiny black enamel applied to the BL truck frame. The code means LEFT truck sideframe on the B END.
Speaking of the B end, Kirk Warner substantially completed needlechipping the remaning old paint from this end.

I was not around at the time. General discussion suggests that it was "pretty marginal" in a number of areas. Nigel
