New Seat Handles  Door Decal  In Barn 4  Interior in Progress  Door Engine  Sign Box Monday, April 19. 2010ME 28 Update - April 18, 2010 I Will Take Door No. 2 The crew for the ME 28 was out in force and here Jeff Brady begins the trim and fitting work on Door Number 2, for the left side of the car. That includes lock set, track, weatherstripping, a whole lot more fittings and 'stuff' than you would imagine.  Door Number One Monday, April 12. 2010Milwaukee Electric L4 Update - April 10, 2010Here is a shot from the camera of Robert Kudder of the old car shop area in Barn 4.  Footboards New finish paint is now on the second set of all new footboards constructed in the wood shop by Buzz Morisette. In the background see a stack of refinished windows destined for CA&E 319. Monday, April 12. 2010ME 28 Update, part 2 - April 10, 2010And as follows, here are some excellent photos from Robert Kudder who was visiting Saturday. Thank you!  HMMM Ray Schmid and Jeff Brady puzzle over what is next to do.  Door Work The bulk of the woodwork part of building a new door is done but many hours remain to add the trim, accessories, wear strips etc.  Its a Lock The area for the door locking hardware must be routed and chiseled out to accept the hardware. Sunday, April 11. 2010ME 28 Update - April 10, 2010 Trim Work Jeff Brady continues the work on the two new doors for the Michigan car. All the saved pieces of metal banding, weatherstipping retainers, and here, the lock set, are being fitted and installed prior to be being ready for painting. Then on to the same tasks for door No. 2. Thursday, April 8. 2010CCW 300 Update - April 7, 2010 Fuse Box Pete Galayda is working to rebuild the badly deteriorated roof mounted fuse box for this locomotive. He is also working with John Nelligan to re-create the electrical engineering to fill in missing blanks on the documentation we have, and what changes will be needed to consider revising this engine for operation on 600 volts. Pete is now in the process of re-conditiong the 280 electrical grids using an electrolysis process and wire brushing. Some new insulators and other parts will be needed to place the seven grid boxes into working order. |
