Victor Humprheys and John Faulhaber are moving ahead, one step at a time, on the new door for the station. The outer frame components are fitted and the stock that was pre-milled for the middle stiles is in place for measurements. There are a LOT of steps for this project, and they must be planned and done in a unique order. By days end, those two pieces were squared and cut to length, and the tenons underway.
Buzz Morisette was making repairs on an assembly for the Diner ceiling area. Earlier, he completed two more window frames for the MILW 01984 caboose.
Rich Witt and I continued on the design and engineering for the next Passenger Car Department project. Look for work to start on some new windows for the GLEN SPRINGS.
Here is the drawing for the new windows. Not enough detail for you to build them looking at this, but there is a lot of planning and are many details to be resolved to be able to construct a new frame faithful to the originals. The thumbnail gives you some idea of the content but the image does not play well on the BLOG site. If you are interested, you will have to try to do a screen grab of the image and look at it from there.
We saw Steve Holding and Ed Chase visit the shop and we look forward to having them perform some 'slave labor' in the near future. And a lot of effort for the Illinois Traction Society meet seemed to pay off. A chunk of our day in the shops involved an unexpected last minute shop tour for the attendees, with good feedback from them.

I was not around at the time. General discussion suggests that it was "pretty marginal" in a number of areas. Nigel
