Pete Galayda quietly goes about trimming out and adding all the 'good stuff' to complete the paint job on this car. He has been replacing many of the signs, lights, etc on the ends, for example. Here, the sign from the Safety Commission has been restored and placed, as it was.
Pete Galayda continues to work on this historic car. Here he is in the shop working to repair and make whole the illuminated signs for the car ends. Missing parts - broken parts - you get the idea.
How did he do that? We arrived last Wednesday and the last of the hand painted lettering was done!
This Way, Folks
Pete Galayda must been sneaking out to work on the car when no one was looking. But the car body is now nearly done and looking better than it has for the last FIFTY YEARS. Good work Pete, and the hard working crew of helpers.
On Saturday Buzz Morissette was laying out the last remaining major elements in getting the painted car lettered.
East End
And the finished results on the east end speak for themselves. This project is a good example what can be accomplished by perhaps a dozen members participating when and where they can.
