Noticed you have the Pullman Glen Alta, that car was part of my fathers train in the 60's,along with 7 other Pullman heavyweights. The Glen Alta was restored and visited the Derby several times as well as running with 5 of his other cars behind the 4501 in 1967. Glad she has been saved. COMMENT: I believe the Glen Alta has been sold and will be leaving IRM property soon. Bob Kutella

The West locomotive on the train was CNW 8701. This one of the two remaining original CNW locos on the UP roster, and has never been fully repainted since it was delivered new to the CNW. The CNW 1995 heritage unit was elsewhere that day.

Will there be any opportunity to volunteer during diesel days in any department? My father and I could wash windows in any department, especially inside cars/engines that need it most. Thanks from MI, Nick D. REPLY: In my area we are always happy to welcome new volunteers. But most of the work in my area is restoration related right now, and can be physically demanding,, noisy, or dirty work. I generally do not get too much involved in the operating equipment, except to make sure our cars are inspected and work. If you are coming on the days of the event, much of sprucing up is done in advance of those dates. Perhaps some of the other department managers will see this post and reply. Bob Kutella
