Max, these are very informative and educational articles. Just the sort of thing we should be doing more of. I have a question: is there anything you would do differently if you're serving wires together for electrical conductivity rather than mechanical strength? Randy

If you were serving wires for electrical conductivity you would have to clean them to provide a good connection. The splice would also be soldered.
