How often will 1630 run in summer of 2014?

Far too soon to say !. Clearly we would like to run her as often as possible but, in practical terms, she is an expensive beast to run so I imagine that there will have to be some trade off on when there are sufficient visitors to make it worthwhile. Nigel

My condolences to the many friends that Bill had made and to his family. I man of many talents will be sorely missed. I am glad to hear that 1630 once again will be ready to ply the rails. It is well and good that one of our steamers remains operational. Congratulations to all of you at the museum.

It's always great to hear about a steam locomotive returning to service. What makes this one so special are the blog reports that you've made. You've let us share the highs and lows of the steam team in their quest to restore the 1630 to operation. So the thrill of seeing it in steam is only surpassed by the joy and satisfaction that the team must have felt in this accomplishment. My congrats to the team on a job well done and my thanks to you for letting us share the journey it took to get to this day.
