BIG congrats to all those who participated in getting 1630 to where it is today. I'm impressed with hard work and dedication by this group to get the beast to where it is! Did the 15 year / 1472 service day FRA inspection countdown start on Oct 30, when 1630 was fired?

Tom, Thank you. Heck!. You are looking a bit further forward than me!. Tom maintains the inspection records not me. But in practical terms "the 15 year period shall begin on the day that the locomotive is placed in service or 365 calendar days after the first flue tube is installed in the locomotive, whichever comes first". So I guess she was effectively in service from the time she was inspected. Whatever, it should mean that, subject to any issues arising at interim inspections, the next 15 year is due after the 2028 season. Seriously doubt that I will be able to contribute much at that stage !! Nigel
