It looks like the paint and primer just separated completely from the metal. Is that infiltration water damage or just the effects of temperature changes and condensation? A pole barn prevents rain, snow, and light damage and may stabilize day to night temperatures somewhat, but unfortunately equipment that is stored inside may still be prone to the same problems in RI 2602 from temperature extremes and condensation.

Yes, that's right the OLD paint could not take the extreme weather conditions. We have complained about storing the cars inside to years but to no avail. Now to do the job and get it all removed will be expensive. We need a lot of volunteers. Want to help!? Just look how long its taken to do the 2612. The same problem has happened in the "LACKS." When the paint gets old it isn't as elastic. The cold makes the steel contract and the paint begins to crack. Add just a little moisture in the air and POOF the paint curls up and falls off the steel like confetti. Sunny days are the worst for cars stored outside. The sun heats up the steel causing it to expand, the night comes and the steel contracts and that is a fatal for old brittle paint. I'm surprised there isn't more rust damage to the cars.
