Why does a second hydro test need to be done if you've already done one along with a steam test?

John, This is just to check for any leaks that might have developed over winter and test the refitting of any pipes and valves that were removed for the painting. The test is strictly at operating pressure (The over pressure test is done and to go over operating again would require a further internal inspection). The latter is a very sore point!. We spent several hours yesterday remaking seals on a pipe feeding the water column that leaked during the first attempt under pressure. Nigel

We are still trying for a pilot run the weekend before Memorial Day. That is looking tight but we are sure hoping to be running Memorial weekend. Nigel

Thank you Nigel for you posting the progress on the happenings in the Steam shop. Great work! Can not wait for the smell of coal smoke this summer.

Absolutely gorgeous! 1630 has been a rather large part of my childhood for so long... Glad to see her looking like she just rolled out of the Baldwin shop! I can't wait to come see her in steam once more.... lord knows it's been a long enough wait! Cheers and congrats on all the hard work you all put into her.

I can't believe you got this running again after so many years. You guys are badasses. Way to stick with a difficult job and get it done. Eric Ellis Chicago, IL
