Bob, You are quite right freight cars are part of any railroad scene. It is great to see such work. We have an electric freight train on display in Car Barn Three at Rio Vista. What is the next car for the winter? Ted MilesAFMP

Ted, As noted in the recent posts we are racing the calendar to complete freight car work to a stopping point before winter sets in. So it is unlikely much work will be done outdoors (our shop area) in a typical Chicago winter. On the other hand we run the Wood Shop and have several projects on deck, as well as supporting and participating in many other department needs; virtually all others at IRM have benefited from the Wood Shop. And as you may not know it, we are undoubtedly the smallest equipment department at IRM in terms of manpower, although we have been assigned responsibility for almost 80 cars.

The number of cars that seem to have been mostly completed in a recent time frame is amazing.
