Sometimes I forget there is a zoom feature on these blog photos. After zooming in on the second photo (C&NW caboose 10494), I noticed it has some very interesting trucks under it. Are these wooden-beam type trucks? Thanks for writing about these two cars. An eye-opening blog post.

Good eye. Lucien. This historic and rare caboose built by the CNW in 1915 DOES have wood beam four wheel trucks. (And type KC air brakes.) Bob Kutella
