My husband and I visited for the first time and brought the grand kids yesterday. We saw 1630 and fell in love. I got a small clip of video but not enough. I will have to come back for more. Is there a time schedule of when she will go out? Thank you for all of your hard work. We loved our visit and especially 1630.
Monica,
Great to hear that you and the grand kids enjoyed it. One of the joys is to introduce a new generation to steam in action.
Future dates. I am trying to get this shown more clearly on the website. Please recognize that last minute problems are always possible and the museum cannot guarantee she will run on the intended dates. Checking with the information line close to the date is always recommended.
Current plans are to run:
June 7, 8, 14, 15
July 4, 5, 6
August 2, 3, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, 31
September 1, 20, 21

If I lived closer, I'd be out there doing what I could to help. If there's anything I can do this weekend (and if I'm not on a train crew), I'll do my best.
Nigel, i just want to thank you, and all of the other hard workers at IRM for everything that you have done in an effort to get 1630 running for this weekend, it means alot to me that you guys out there give up your time to make the rest of us satisfied
Thanks Much for everything
Nick
I am a long time supporter of irm. I do pay a membership, but I feel supporter is a better term. The true members are the people who dedicate YEARS of their lives to the preservation and restoration of these pieces of history. As I, and I'm sure many others have watched the "car barn 9"cam from the comfort of our homes and waited for that day when 1630 was going to pass. There has been a group of people out there on that 0 degree January day, or that 110 degree July day working. This is a time to thank All of the "members" from the person who cuts the grass to the "member" who paints the barn walkway we use without noticing. And yes, the people that make these pieces of history move. Thank You
