I really love seeing the 1630 returning to its former glory. I first got to ride on it more than 25 years ago and it left a great impression on me. Will it be back in service this year? I really hope so! Going to IRM is like a trip back in time and I frequently visit to see what new additions have arrived and what progress has come on long term projects. I wish I could volunteer but I have very little time unfortunately. Keep up the great work!

Hello Philip Thank you for your kind comments. Yes, the 1630 will again be running in 2015 baring any unforeseen problems. The continuing projects are the Shay rebuild and, of course the UP 428. The later is receiving a lot of attention and the crew is feverishly working on the steamer to get it in operation by? New additions are costing more & more $ to transport to Irm. The coach dept has at least 6 pieces that need $ to move. Please consider a donation to the steam fund and/or Pass coach fund. Thanks Roger

while 428's cab is still on the ground, there could be some premature painting and decals that could go on the outside of the cab

Hello Raphael That is an idea but you would be wasting valuable labor and $ applying paint and decals. Why not do it once and do it the right way?! Painting will begin when all work has been completed. Roger
