For 428's cab to be installed on the locomotive would any appliances on the back head need to be removed? I've never seen what goes where on the back end of the boiler so I'm unsure of what a task of this size involves. You guys are doing an outstanding job and I always look forward to the updates!

Are there going to be any days where both 1630 and the shay are operating? Or are there going to be select days where only 1630 operates or only the shay operates?

Dave, Think the answer is going to be all of the above. It is beginning to look as if it will be late in the season before #5 can operate. We did not attract the donations needed to move forward fast. Once she is running, I suspect days with both in operation will not be frequent for some time. We are still building up trained crews and this will be a limiting factor. However, I expect a big drive to see both loco in steam at once on some occasions. Nigel
