This is fantastic! Between this and the E-33, you guys area having a banner year! As a NH fan, the E-33 news was one of the highlights of my year, but as a diesel historian, THIS is one of the great stories of the years, along with the purchase and start-up of the former DLW/RELCO/Behr HH660 by NIWX. I'm praying you guys will get that HH after John Howell is done with it. But in the meantime, congratulations and kudos on saving B-71, an engine I have wanted to visit for 45 years! Now I will get the chance. The only thing you guys could do to make me love your outfit any more would be to get MNS 21 running! The only Baldwin centercab left in the world deserves to run once in a while.
I believe one of these was sitting in southern lower michigan in the Tecumseh area. When I went there to photograph it, the railroad said they got rid of it the month before.
The passenger car department should be praised for restoration of the three cars which were restored and brought into service looking wonderful over the past couple of years. Further they have brought the Sante Fe combine back not service. Please thank all of hose that have worked so hard to achieve this outcome.
Roger, Congratulations on adding the new B-71 diesel locomotive to the IRM collection. It looks cool. Look forward to seeing it at IRM. Sincerely, Ethan
Congrats on the new acquistition. I'm sure the wonderful team at IRM will make this engine come back to life and be as beautiful as it rolled out the first time
Don't forget Armco B-70, the last Baldwin box cab now in doors at the SE RR Museum in Duluth, GA. I suspect it may be available along with the 2 St Louis "New Look" TCs. Looking forward to Showcase weekend. Will any of the "Closed" Barns be available to members?

Just curious... is anyone planning on updating the online roster to reflect this and other great additions?
The last update was made in 2009, which means it doesn't reflect the ATSF FM switcher, the UP B40-8, CNW RSD, or this new ugly duckling.
I know its not mentioned here but this diesel was unloaded by using IRM's CNW 6363 160T wrecker and also the CNWX 40T Ohio crane on Labor day Monday. This was done with all IRM volunteers doing the work.
Hi Andy I know, you guys did an excellent job of unloading the diesel as well as the turn table! No other museum could accomplish what you fellas did. Many Thanks to you, Mark S, and Dan F. Roger
