I will let someone in the Electric Car Department reply with details. The short story is that volunteers continue to work on the set, where we can accomplish the work on site. The big stumbling block is the deteriorated condition of the motors. A few have been reconditioned and rebuilt, but another has failed and the remaining originals as we got it are suspect. Each motor requires a lot of work to remove - they come out from UNDER the car while over a pit - and very expensive to send to a shop While it remains a fan favorite, monetary support is 'thin'. I have builders photos and other in service views but have been advised by the Passenger Car Department Head not to post any entry or comment without his review, edit and approval, so will have to end this answer here.
