We haven't decided which way to go with paint just yet, that is a few years down the road. The original passenger number was 102. The 101 number was used when it was the first to have the Super fleet scheme you see on it now. Not sure why they started to change the sequence back then, but that was corrected when it was renumbered from 101 to 92. Thank you for your continued support, we really appreciate that!
It was restored at Altoona before coming to Union from the Essex, CT area. BTW, is or was it going to be restored as a Virginian engine? or kept as a Conrail? because somewhere i heard that its going to be restored back to the Virginian colors.
It was supposed to be restored and sat behind the NS Altoona shops for the better part of two years, waiting for that to happen. We finally had it shipped as is. Word on the street is that it will be restored as New Haven, but not for a while.
One other E33 exists and is restored as Virginian at (I think) Virginia Museum of Transportation.
I hope so, because its already October (10/20/17), and the bid is Due. I was thinking the Museum would have to get enough money to buy it from the scrapper.
I have the Fall 2017 Rail & Wire. I hope the dardanelle & Russellville #14 goes back to the Missouri Pacific #9001 one of these days.

I can't tell you how happy I am with your work on RI 4506! Your diesel paint jobs are the absolute best.
I would like to show my appreciation by donating a few dollars. Is the RI 4506 fund still open? Or do you prefer if I just give to the general "Diesel Locomotive Restoration" account? I support your other diesel projects (L&N FA-2, ATSF FP45) as well, so perhaps the general account is what I should give to?

Thank you for the kind comments and for supporting the museum's restoration efforts. The 4506 no longer needs any money for its paint job, however, donating to the diesel department restoration fund will help us to this same kind of work to the next loco once we're done with this one. Would the Illinois Railway Museum have any interest in saving or acquiring Metra F40C #610? I'm sure diesel department has more than enough projects to work on as it is, but I thought it would be worth asking, seeing as it's a rare locomotive and would be worth saving.
