COOL!!!!! Looks great! I can't wait to see 972 roll under its own power around the streetcar loop!!! I would be waiting in line to learn to operate this one, with me being a Milwaukeean.

Thanks for the kind remarks, that crew deserves HIGH MARKS. But note that the car is not ready for service yet. For some time we have been working to get four good reconditioned motors for it, and that seems close. But the immediate problem is that the wheel profile and gauge spacing appears to be wider than standard. Did the TM use 4'-9" for some reason? So, engineering is well underway and literally the globe is being searched for new wheels to be made. The third item, looking ahead, is that many of the seats are upholstered in real leather which was old in 1958 when it came out of service. Another half century has them pretty fragile, and we would be looking at regular failures and tears in everyday service. So that is one more item which ought to be addressed now while the car is out of service and available. As you might guess a plea for money will be forthcoming when all costs and quotes are in place, and a timeline for completion can be published.
