Speaking of Olympus, is it there yet? just curious.

We had hoped the Olympus would have been on site by now, but perhaps it is for the best it has not arrived. With the winter snows we experienced nothing could have been done with needing cranes to move on site. And now the spring rains may mean the ground will be too soft for awhile. The above is more or less hearsay, since the passenger car department chooses not to post news or pics here. I only try to give you some pics when I can. Bob Kutella

Olympus is moving forward slowly. The flat car is arranged, the cranes are arranged, now it will take a bit of adjustment to fit the car on mounts designed for newer equipment. We hope to see progress within the next couple of weeks. The passenger dept hopes to have all three pieces, (1309, Silver Pony and Olympus) on property in early/mid May and set them all out together. for more info feel free to visit the passenger car dept blog irmpassengercars "dot" com

The last I heard it was still in Denver, and there may be some snags to iron out before the move is approved. Our Executive Director is following up. We may not have lost any time, however, since with the spring thaw there are load restrictions on many of the local roads, and a set of Heavy Cranes could not get to our gate yet. Bob Kutella
