Thursday, August 27. 2009Chicago Surface Lines 3142 Progress August 26, 2009 Shrink Wrapped? No, not a prime rib from the meat department, although a bit more expensive. Recall the news that a motor failed on our workhorse 3142 in mid summer. The offending motor has been to the motor shop and repaired/rebuilt and was delivered yesterday. Just pulling a motor from a car without the use of an overhead crane shows how resourceful our volunteers are. Now to reverse the process and test it out. Yes, donations are needed. Thursday, August 27. 2009Milwaukee Streetcar 972 Update August 26, 2009 North Side Pete Galayda and helpers have painted the north side of the car now, and are starting to mount the hardware and window guards. On to the two ends!! Thursday, August 13. 2009Milwaukee Streetcar 972 Update August 12, 2009 Painting Pete Galayda is painting the first coat of orange on the north side of the car now. What a difference this makes!  East End John Faulhaber is starting the prep work on the east end of the 972. You can note previous volunteer work on this end, some it from years ago. |

7009 number boards look good. Is there a way to turn a locomotive around at IRM? In case you ever had a mind to connect 7009 and 6847?
