Here are more pictures of the building barn 13 progress. It was Tuesday, August 18th, and quite a productive day! Beautiful weather and knowledgeable crew as you can see. Now each truss is 62 feet long and a bundle has arrived on a specially designed truck to haul about 30 per truck load. A truss is the supporting work that will eventually hold the steel roofing skin
In two weeks will start the second construction; barn 14 ! Remember the future with a donation to barn 15 today.

I was out yesterday and true to form the construction had taken another step forward. The crews had laid out the wall construction from each side and were assembling them. BTY it was hot and very humid. You have to hand it to them. It was the tropics out on the pad. They were literally using a hammer and six inch nails to fasten the 2X4's to the wooden columns. Now your probably asking "Are they going to raise the entire length of 512 all at once?" No! What will happen is that the crews will install a 30 ft section, one at a time, securing[nailing] one to the other as they go.
Do we need another barn built? The answer is a resounding YES! Start sending in your donations for the new barn 15!
Remember to mark it Barn 15! A new fund has been created!

Here's the latest construction news taken Tuesday August 11, 2015. All the H support columns are installed and incased with concrete. The crews have been working at another site but will be back in two days. In the mean time the poured concrete is curing in the hot blazing sun of August. That edge you see looks like wood but is actually a plastic resin design which will no deteriorate Pretty smart!
I will try and keep everyone updated with our "barn raising." It should be quite interesting
especially during the Thomas events. Please come out and visit Irm during late August and September. You will be impressed by all the activities and improvements. Roger

7009 number boards look good. Is there a way to turn a locomotive around at IRM? In case you ever had a mind to connect 7009 and 6847?
