Tuesday, June 26. 2018Part 2 John Mcgloughlin Progress
Not to be out done the John Mcloughlin also has seen its share of new progress. For this we have to thank Mark Hoffmann, Howard and Mary Gierer, and Bob Olson for all their efforts. Work is now focusing on the hallway and the men's bathroom. This type of paint restoration is very tedious and takes a while to remove the old paint, sand and then prime. With a few more volunteers we could get the entire area primed and painted by this fall. Regardless, you will read about our progress.
 Mark is standing by the wall that he just sanded and made ready for priming in the mens bathroom.  This is what it looks like once the primer has been applied.  Mary Gierer was helping clean the floor after the early spring work sessions.  This is the hallway leading into the sectional berth area.  Yes, that is correct! Mary is mopping the floor removing the buildup up of old dirt and grime.  Bob Olsen is removing more old paint from another wall.  This wall is facing the exterior door Mark just sanded it.  Again this effort Howard Gierer is using bondo to repair a couple of holes in the lower exterior vestibule door.  After all that work he is now spraying the door with a finish coat of, what else, Pullman Green. |
