Here are some recent construction pictures of our Multi Purpose Building.
Please consider visiting your museum this year. Along with the many continuing restoration projects, our focus this past year involves creating more displays and giving the visitor a more educational and friendly experience. Thanks to our Buildings and Grounds Manager, Dave Diamond, for all the hard work he and his team have placed on this new building. Thanks, Roger.
Here are some pictures of the building construction which will house the model railroad display, Milwaukee Road Historical Association displays and the new home for the Pullman Library Archives. The museum should be very proud of this monumental construction project. Dave Diamond has done a marvelous job as general contractor scheduling the various companies to complete this building!
Talking to Dave he hopes to have the building interior finished by either late Spring or early Summer of this year.
Thanks, Roger Kramer
The museum along with the with the help of two departments, track and buildings and grounds, has begun removing and demolishing the old bookstore site next to our station. This will, first of all, remove a long awaited eye sore and then open up the visual site lines for the trains at the station as well as traveling by it on our mainline. Here is a sequence of events and the results of each.
Many, many thanks to all who participated is this project. It has been talked about for many years and now finally its happened! Wow looks great! As I have stated earlier, it sure gives better site lines to the railroad action around the station. Just as important it cleans the area and gives our visitors a better first impression of the entire museum. Thanks Roger
