Lots happening on this project over the three day holiday. Here Gwyn Stupar catches Kirk Warner with a disk of center bearing grease. The car is on on jacks for the next step.
And this is the next step - reaching into the exposed cup on top of the truck to lay in that lubricant. In case you did not recognize him, that is Kirk Warner.
By Monday afternoon the caboose was ready for a test drive on the main line. Here an engine couples up to the caboose in Yard 5. Jamie Kolanowski was the engineer, Warren Lloyd the conductor, and Kirk Warner the chaperone.
Buzz Morrisette caught a quick snapshop as the train was ready to leave east to the end of the line. From all accounts the bearings ran cool and no defects noted.
Norm Krentel is drilling for new mounting holes for the north side tack molding while Jeff Brady sights along the new piece. PROGRESS!!
George Clark is set to drill the last set of holes to mount new steel needle beams under the Lake Shore Electric 810. For those of you who object to this posted here, George will quickly admit this is a freight car!
