The title line sounds like something you might hear in your favorite carry out deli. But no, we are making the call for any of our volunteer project workers who can see a need for upcoming wood shop work. Every year at this time we try to look ahead to the coming winter season when a lot of our time is spent indoors in the woodshop.
GET IN LINE NOW if you are plannig a need for shop time, either on your own, or to have our regular staff do the work for you.
The shop area is open to all regular volunteers at IRM, based on your ability to work safely. Any wood work project has a few requirements. The project bears the cost and effort of acquiring the appropriate hardwood or softwood raw materials, and other consumable supplies for the project. Simple requests are processed as fast as we can get to them and any IRM equipment or B&G project is eligible. Larger or more complicated work MAY be assessed a fee for shop time, this to help maintain the tooling and shop in prime usable condition. It is very minimal and perhaps is about 20% of what a project might pay on the open market. Last winter season saw car siding made, four large doors, and probably over 100 windows, along with many, many additional wood items, including seat parts, tack molding - the list is endless,
HURRY! HURRY! HURRY!
