Barn 11 Update October 1, 2008

Framing

Amazingly, it seems the contractor worked both days last weekend, but not Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday this week. Here is the current state of affairs, and you can begin to appreciate the size of this structure.

UP 25086 Update - October 1, 2008

In Primer

The crew and painter worked Tuesday to get the car completely primed. Here is the ghostly sight we encountered early Wednesday morning.

The FIRST Yellow

And now for the Armour Yellow. First the cupola area.

Looking Good

Then - two coats on the south side.

Nearly Done

The sun was getting low but the north side has some yellow and on to the east end.

Wood Shop Update October 1, 2008

About 10 days ago we were able to operate this very old molder for the first time. The wood chips really flew. The wheels and pulleys were balanced, and it was decided to move the counter shaft bearing blocks to reduce the length of that shaft.

Frame Modifications

So here is Neal Schwiningbeck welding in a new piece of steel channel. By the end of the day, holes were drilled and test fitting of the pedestals was done.
