Here we go - still old news but I am gaining on the backlog. These all to reflect work from mid October.
Gerry Dettloff is working on pulling the canvas tight on the west end of Lake Shore Electric 810. And we are all pulling for him.
Jim Heinlein is on site often, working on our restoration projects. For the time being he seems to have found a home working with Tim Peters on Chicago Rapid Transit 1024, in this case chipping decades of grunge and rust from the east truck.
Meanwhile, in the shop, Rich Witt has created a jig to facilitate cutting a 45 degree notch in new third rail beams for Chicago Aurora & Elgin 36.
We all knew Henry Vincent was a big wheel, so he was the logical choice to reassemble reconditioned band saw wheels in the shop.
Long time readers here know that about a year ago not a single week went by without posting news of window work in the shop. With the onset of winter coming, I expect that will be the case again, soon enough. Jim Foraker is working on a window from Illinois Terminal 1565, our class B locomotive.
Paul Cronin is priming new lumber soon to be cut and fit for a new ceiling inside our Chicago Great Western X 38 snowplow.
Not canvasing for votes, but Tim Peters has stretched the first new canvas for the 1024. He is working here on the hip on the north side of the car. This marks three concurrent roof canvas jobs at once in our Electric Car Department.

7009 number boards look good. Is there a way to turn a locomotive around at IRM? In case you ever had a mind to connect 7009 and 6847?
