Lots of pics to show you this week, so if you do not mind, here we go.
Just starting on the repack lettering. In the background behind my back, you can see an earlier block of info.
So here is what we did today. In keeping with this thread on the blog, I do not think we need a quiz or further explanation in this post.
Neil Schwingbeck welds in seven new studs to anchor the upper track for the plug door.
Dick Cubbage is nailing a new siding board in place. Remember that these were milled in the wood shop, primed both sides, and first coat of finish paint applied over the previous weeks.
Kirk Warner is acting as fitter, needing to drill clearance holes or cope out slots for bolts that must penetrate the wood siding to anchor various attachments.
Sixteen new boards installed today and less than that number remaining. You all need to hurry out for a visit if you want to witness this work. Or come out anyway, we need the help on the ends and roof!
John Faulhaber is applying the first coat of finished orange to the west end.
The letterboard area looks good in orange. Note the very nice work done previously on the interior, seen through the end windows.

One LONG section of new letterboard has been lifted to test fit the installation. George Clark is closely examining to determine the next step.

7009 number boards look good. Is there a way to turn a locomotive around at IRM? In case you ever had a mind to connect 7009 and 6847?
