Tuesday, August 11. 2009UTLX 17222 Tank Car Update August 9, 2009 Sanding Work has resumed to get the final painting done on this car and weather permitting, it will be applied soon. I am sanding the end and Nathanial Berele is hand sanding and touch up work. The car has been moved to a temporary spot inside Barn 3 to protect the work and do the masking. Tuesday, August 11. 2009URTX 26640 Update August 9, 2009 Dimensional Data Nathanial Berele is helping me position the pattern for all this data in the gusty winds.  Painted And the right side of the car with just about all that it needs to be considered 'lettered'. This data was measured and computed for our car, not being copied from another car or photo.  Ladder Work Victor Humphreys was removing old paint in preparation for priming and painting the second car side ladder.  Siding Kirk Warner has just about completed re-siding the second car side. Remaining are the pieces to trim out next to the door, and short pieces below the door. Tuesday, August 11. 2009Wood Shop Update August 9, 2009 Left Side  Right Side Here are two pics of work being done on CRT 1268, the second end to be rebuilt this year. The left side shows new posts and grooved siding, the right side yet to be completed. There has been a lot of sawdust produced in the shop on this project. Tim Peters is the Project Manager, carpenter, painter, millwright, designer, engineer, etc. |
