Thursday, October 9. 2014Tender on RI 938.... painted
The tender of the Rock Island steam Locomotive, 938, was primed and painted September 26th by Phil and myself. Using Sherwin Williams primer and top coat Phil and I primed and painted the entire tender and part of the steam loco's cab all in one day.
 Photo of tender taken last spring  Tender in spot primer  Here I am starting to prime the back side of the tender  Cab and tender now primed  Spraying the underside black  Phil took this picture of the painter  1st coat of black almost applied  3 coats of black and it now looks like how a Rock Island tender should look  Phil and I , the paint crew  J D and Brian are beginning the process of removing all tubes for the boiler inspection |

7009 number boards look good. Is there a way to turn a locomotive around at IRM? In case you ever had a mind to connect 7009 and 6847?
